In 1984, Elaine Avon formed Elaine Avon Artiste Management & Agency, specializing in providing artistes to luxury cruise lines. Her business has thrived since, due to her first-hand knowledge of the cruising industry, its needs and her personal experience of entertaining on luxury cruise vessels for almost twenty years.
Elaine and Valerie Avon, a singing duo, were the founding members of “The Avons“, who had great success in the 60’s (they later added a man to make up a trio). Their first hit as a trio was “Seven Little Girls Sitting in the Back Seat” which shot to the top of the charts internationally. Many more successes were to follow. As composers, “The Avons” wrote for several international stars and in 1963 they were presented with the coveted Ivor Novello Award for “Services to Popular Music”.
